Tusk and the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy are inviting runners to take up our “Virtual Lewa Safari Marathon” challenge this June to run (or walk) 5km, 10km, 21km or 42km around your garden, street, local park, beach, or perhaps on a treadmill.
As part of this challenge, a section of wildlife rangers will run the famous route at the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy accompanied by Tusk’s Director of Programmes, Sarah Watson. These rangers represent the extraordinary men and women who risk their lives daily to protect Africa’s wildlife. You will be able to watch how they do online on Saturday 27th June as they run through one of Africa’s most spectacular wildlife conservancies.
The Virtual Lewa Safari Marathon isn’t a race; there isn’t an entry fee; there’s no stop watch, but we believe it will be a fun and easy way for you (and your family, colleagues and friends) to help counter the devastating impact this pandemic is having on our project partners. We simply ask you to make a voluntary donation and, if you feel able, to also fundraise amongst your friends, to help raise vital funds for a range of wildlife conservation projects, schools, clinics and community programmes across Kenya.
