On the 25th July, Generation Tusk hosted their inaugural Summer Party in London – and what a party it turned out to be!
Despite a rather drizzly British summer’s day, 190 young Tusk supporters descended on the incredible venue 100 Barrington in Brixton for an evening of cocktails, dancing and fundraising. The event was kindly sponsored by Ninety One, and we had generous gifts-in-kind from spirit companies Uhuru Spirits and Downton Distillery, savoury snacks from Savoursmiths and The Savourists, and cookie dough & gelato bites from Doughlicious. Along with some scrummy pizza and a bar stocked with all sorts of concoctions, the party kicked off in style.
Cocktails and mingling were followed by speeches from a couple of the Generation Tusk committee, plus some avid raffle-ticket-buying and silent-auction-bidding for some fantastic donated prizes. Later in the evening, the party hit the dance floor accompanied by music from DJ Alfred Jacquemot who kindly gave his time and talent in support of Tusk.
We are absolutely thrilled to say that the event raised a total of over £8,500, to support Tusk’s partners in the field.
Huge congratulations to the Generation Tusk committee members, who volunteer their time to bring together a network of young philanthropists and conservationists, to teach them about Tusk’s work and socialise with like-minded young professionals.
We look forward to many more GT events in the coming year!
