Over 1,300 runners representing 33 countries took part in the Lewa Safari Marathon in Kenya, one of the world’s most unique races, in support of conservation projects across Kenya, helping the event surpass a major fundraising milestone of $10 million (£7.4 million) raised for conservation and community development projects since it was first held in 2000.
Organised by African conservation charity, Tusk, and the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy and powered by Safaricom and Huawei, the race saw participants take on a marathon, half-marathon or 10km race through the wildlife-rich landscapes of northern Kenya.
